CREEKSIDE and PES

In October 2004 TCN Behavioral Health Services began providing subacute detox and psychiatric emergency services, implementing a new protocol and medication (Subutex) for the treatment of opiate addiction.  Because TCN Behavioral Health Services is certified by both the Ohio Department of Mental Health and the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, individuals with both addiction and mental health problems can be treated at Creekside.  McKinley Hall provides medication follow-up for Clark County residents upon discharge from Creekside.

The use of Subutex is considered a best practice by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

The Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) unit allows for short term psychiatric stabilization without incurring the costs associated with an inpatient psychiatric stay.

VERNON CENTER OPENS

On January 10, 2005 the Mental Health & Recovery Board celebrated the opening of The Vernon Center, a dream come true for consumers.  The Vernon Center is a drop-in center for consumers, a home for NAMI’s monthly educational meetings and the Family to Family series.  James Vernon, the center’s namesake,  NAMI member, and an advocate says, “For me, it was an easy battle to lobby for the consumers to have a facility we could all be proud of.  It is a great honor to have my name associated with the building.”
